Schedule a Tour at the Smart Museum of Art

Inviting communities to engage with art from across histories, cultures, and mediums, tours offer an experiential approach to exploring exhibitions at the Smart Museum of Art. To schedule your self-guided or guided tour, please complete the form below, and we look forward to being in touch soon!

For university groups, please visit the Feitler Center for Academic Inquiry to schedule your visit.

Quick facts about tours:

  • Self-guided and guided tours at the Smart are free; donations are welcome here.
  • Please submit requests a minimum of 4 weeks in advance.
  • Tours are scheduled Tuesday-Friday, between 10 AM-4 PM, with 2 PM being the final start time for guided tours.
  • Limit of 32 people for guided tours and 15 people for self-guided tours. Consideration of larger groups will be dependent upon availability.
  • Plan for 1 chaperone per 10 students.

*Please Note: The current exhibitions, Wise to Power and Theaster Gates: Unto Thee, run through February 22, 2026. Tours will be closed for the month of March 2026 as we work to install the spring exhibitions.*

Tour Request

Please note that while we will do our best to accommodate your request, tours will be scheduled in the order they are received and based on the availability of our museum educators. Tours are not officially scheduled until the Smart team has the opportunity to review your request and send a confirmation email. Tours are scheduled Tuesday-Friday, between 10 AM-4 PM, with 2 PM being the final start time for guided tours.
