Smart Fall Opening Celebration

A white porcelain sculpture of a ball with a fan-like crown resting in a cup

Celebrate the Smart Museum of Art’s fall exhibitions!

Join us and mark the opening of two new special exhibitions. Ruth Duckworth: Life as a Unity offers new perspectives on “sculptor in clay” Ruth Duckworth across her nearly half-century-long career in Chicago, including a pivotal period at the University of Chicago. Opening simultaneously, Smart to the Core: Poetry is Everything is a group show that examines the practice of poetry as a form of communication, linguistic innovation, political performance, and embodied presence.

Plus—snacks, drinks, and conversation.

FREEAdvanced registration encouraged. Walk-ins will be welcome as space allows.
