Free and open to the public
Family Days at the Smart Museum are designed to celebrate the creative potential in all of us. With new projects every month, Family Days offer opportunities for kids and their caregivers to create together and connect with one another. Each program is unique, fun, and free, emphasizing invention, improvisation, and hands-on creativity.
This Saturday, roll on in to the Smart Museum for a special roller skating family day. The afternoon features a kid-friendly tour of Samson Young's multimedia exhibition and a variety of 4-wheeled art activities: create a rolling lemon car, build edible skates, and take a ride in a gigantic roller skate sculpture. Plus, Alisha Webster and DuJuan Walton offer a roller skating performance and will give tips for new skaters.
This afternoon of making is inspired by Samson Young: Silver Moon or Golden Star, Which Will You Buy of Me?
FREE. A limited number of skates will be available to borrow. All other materials provided. Family programs are best for kids 4–12, but all ages are welcomed! Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
