Gifts of Art

Thank you for considering a gift of art to the Smart Museum of Art. Occasionally, we accept gifts of art into our collection. As a university art museum, we are dedicated to building the collection as a resource for the academic community. When considering such offers, the curatorial team evaluates possibilities for teaching with and exhibiting the object.

To properly assess your artwork, we ask that you contact us with the following information:

Once we receive your information, we will respond and let you know it is being reviewed by our curatorial team. Please be aware that, due to the small size of the Smart’s curatorial staff, these reviews can take several months to complete.

Please note: we ask that you not ship or drop off any art without first contacting us. Though we appreciate the generous impulse, we must be sure that we can handle the artworks properly.
