Gifts of Art

Thank you for considering a gift of art to the Smart Museum of Art. As a university art museum, our permanent collection dynamically supports academic and artistic study, inspires new ideas and creative interpretations, and provides a space for reflection and conversation with the Museum’s many audiences. With our growing body of artworks representing art from across the globe, from antiquity to the present day, our collection is the foundation of who we are. When considering gifts of art, a multidisciplinary team evaluates the possibilities for teaching, exhibiting, and programming with the object.

To properly assess your artwork, we ask that you contact us with the following information:

Please note: we ask that you not ship or drop off any art without first contacting us. Though we appreciate the generous impulse, we must be sure that we can handle the artworks properly.
