Gallery Talk: Cruz and His Contemporaries

Fiberglass sculptures presented on the walls and floor of a gallery

Join us for a closing-day tour of Emilio Cruz Inter-Planetary Slavery • Paintings and Fiberglass Sculpture, 1970-1979 at Corbett vs Dempsey.

During this informal in-gallery discussion, gallerists John Corbett and Jim Dempsey (Corbett vs. Dempsey) and curator Orianna Cacchione (Smart Museum of Art) offer insights into Emilio Cruz and his contemporaries, including friend and artist Bob Thompson, musicians Henry Threadgill and Julius Hemphill, and writer Amiri Baraka (previously known as LeRoi Jones).

FREE, drop-in.

Join us at the Smart Museum of Art on Friday, March 11 at 4 pm for a complementary discussion and tour of Bob Thompson: This House Is Mine.
