Remarks on the History of Things

A bronze sculpture of two hands touching rests on a plinth in front of a painting of a dancing couple

Join UChicago graduate students from a wide array of disciplines for short reflections on selected objects in the Smart Museum of Art’s collection-based exhibition Calling on the Past.

The gallery talks offer an opportunity for the UChicago community to know the past through works by Kerry James Marshall, Helen Saunders, Lauren Quin, and other artists.

FREE, but space is limited. Please register in advance.

This program is offered in conjunction with UChicago GRAD and the University of Chicago’s 2023 Alumni Weekend.
