Tour begins at the Divinity School, in the lobby of Swift Hall, 1025 E. 58th Street, and ends at the Smart Museum of Art, 5550 S. Greenwood Avenue
At the University of Chicago, works of art—both inside gallery and other buildings as well as outside—offer vast opportunities to discover, contemplate, and engage.
This one-and-a-half-hour tour led by Laura Steward, Curator of Public Art, covers a sampling of the stunning works that help to shape the University’s intellectual and cultural life. Highlights include the year-long public art project 100 Views of Lake Michigan and works by Ruth Duckworth, Jenny Holzer, and Henry Moore. The tour will end with a visit to the Smart Museum and its collection-based exhibition Unsettled Ground, organized by the Feitler Center for Academic Inquiry and collaboratively curated by alumna Katerina Korola (PhD ’21), who will provide a walkthrough of the exhibition.
Offered in conjunction with Alumni Weekend. Space is limited; first-come, first-served.
