Opening Celebration: Unsettled Ground

Join the Smart Museum of Art for a special celebration marking the opening of Unsettled Ground: Art and Environment from the Smart Museum Collection. Enjoy food, drink, conversation, and gallery talks led by the UChicago student curators.

Organized by the Feitler Center for Academic Inquiry, the exhibition examines how the environment has shaped artistic practice on conceptual, aesthetic, and material levels. The exhibition was collaboratively curated by Katerina Korola (PhD ’21) and the undergraduate and graduate students of her fall 2021 seminar, “Picturing the Earth: Art and Environment in the Modern Era.”

FREE, open to all. Reservations encouraged, walk-ins accepted.
