Although working independently, both artists have sought in their work to break down the barriers between language and image, and to produce documents, drawings, prints, and objects that are at once unsettling and intriguing. Guest-curated by Professors Rene de Costa of the Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at the University of Chicago and Sonia Mattalla of the Universitat de Valencia, the exhibition was also on view in Valencia during the spring of 1992.
