Jacques Lipchitz: Sketches in Bronze, Ideas on Paper
December 20, 1994–February 5, 1995
Seven bronze sculptures and four works on paper comprised this mini-retrospective of the study work of Jacques Lipchitz, allowing a glimpse of the cubist sculptor's initial explorations of themes and compositions.
The first of three twentieth-anniversary exhibitions devoted to selected works from the permanent collection, Jacques Lipchitz reunited sketches and models that had not been shown together since the Museum's inaugural exhibition in 1974.
