In collaboration with Hyde Park Neighborhood Club, families will explore the colorful world of artist Alma Thomas as they invent their own mixed-media planets and celestial habitats. In celebration of Earth Month this April, learn about Thomas’s fascination with nature and the cosmos to help spark ideas about who and what lives on your imaginary planet, what the environment is like, and of course, what colors bring it to life.
FREE, drop-in, but RSVP is encouraged to help the Smart team best prepare for the day. Register here. Art-making supplies and other materials are provided. Family programs are best for kids 4–12, but all ages are welcomed! Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Hyde Park Neighborhood Club brings people together to strengthen the health, vitality, and sustainability of our diverse local community through programs and partnerships, with a particular focus on child and youth development.
“Imagined Worlds” is generously supported by the Terra Foundation for American Art.
