During this intergenerational gallery discussion, The Time Is Now! exhibiting artist Douglas Williams shares stories about working and living on the South Side.

Douglas Williams works across painting, drawing, and sculpture. In addition, Williams has been director of the South Side Community Art Center and the summer arts program On the Beach at the 63rd Street Beach, and curator of the annual Black Esthetics exhibition at the Museum of Science and Industry.

Douglas Williams will be in conversation with his son Dr. Douglas Williams, a scholar whose research bridges the relationship between design, policy, and application for the built environment. They will be joined by journalist Norman Parish III, who is currently the metropolitan editor for the Daily Southtown. He is the son of The Time Is Now! artist Norman Parish Jr. (1937–2013), who was a painter, member of the Organization of Black American Culture (OBAC), and owner of the Parish Gallery in Washington, DC.
