Resources for University of Chicago Students & Faculty

The Smart Museum takes an active role in making the visual arts an integral part of the intellectual and social life of University of Chicago Students. The Smart offers students professional work experiences, research opportunities, a place to see art, and a space to relax, socialize, and hold special events. Collection and exhibition planning often involves University faculty and students. University scholars frequently take part in the Smart's lively series of public programs, providing a public forum for University scholarship.
We strongly encourage faculty to use the Museum as a resource within courses, including courses typically outside the humanities. Museum staff can lead visits and course sessions. Works not currently on view in the galleries can be seen during special visits to the Museum's study room. An advance exhibition schedule is available to all faculty.
