Cross Sections II

17 January–17 March 1991

This year, the Smart Museum unveiled the first handbook to the galleries, A Guide to the Collection, in conjunction with the exhibition Cross Sections II. The exhibition showcases gifts to the Museum over the last three years, including a small etching by Rembrandt van Rijn, nineteenth-century photographs by the Bisson Frères and Adolphe Braun, Charles Rennie Mackintosh’s gilt cutlery for Miss Cranston’s Willow Tea Room in Glasgow, a landscape by 12th-century Chinese woman artist Tseng Yuho, a black and white brush and ink drawing by Willem de Kooning, and a combination of painting and sculpture by pop artist Larry Rivers.
