Scheduling
All groups must call or submit the online scheduling form at least two weeks in advance to schedule a tour. The maximum number of visitors for a guided tour is 35 students for elementary–University student groups and 40 adults for adult groups.
Smart Museum staff will help you plan your visit. Contact Lauren Boylan, Manager of Tour and Teacher Initiatives at 773-834-1066 or e-mail lboylan@uchicago.edu to schedule your tour. You may also submit your request via the online scheduling form.
Fees Schedule and Group Tour Policy
All group tour fees are due prior to the Museum visit and can be made payable to the Smart Museum of Art. Group tour reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance of the requested tour date.
One adult chaperone for every ten students is required for all guided elementary–high school student tour groups.
Fees for Docent-Led Group Tours:
Docent-led student tours (elementary–University)
Maximum of 35 students
FREE for Chicago schools
$30.00 for schools outside of Chicago
Docent-led adult tours (about one hour)
Maximum of 40 adults
$30.00 per group
Docent-led 15-minute introduction only
For groups exceeding maximum guided tour size or for self-guided groups
$20.00 per group
FREE for Chicago schools
Groups of 10 or more Smart Museum members may schedule a docent-led tour free of charge. Visit our membership page to obtain information about becoming a Smart Museum member.
