“Colophon” comes from the Greek “κολοφων,” meaning “a summit,” “top,” “finishing.” It is a description of the details and methods behind a publication, often found on the last few pages of a book.

Typography

The Smart Museum logo makes use of Gotham Light. Navigation and headers are also set in Gotham and the body text uses Verdana.

Design and Development

Neoteric Design redesigned the Smart Museum website in 2010.

Technical

We used Illustrator, Photoshop, and TextMate to create this site. The site runs on PHP. Content is maintained using Movable Type 5. The site also utilizes Cufon which dynamically generates image representations of text. The site is authored using HTML 5, and complies with the 1.0 transitional web standards as set by the W3C.
