This catalogue documents Earth, Water, Fire: Classical Mediterranean Ceramics, an exhibition which brings together more than 120 representative works from the University of Chicago's Classical Collection including glazed and un-glazed Greek, Roman, Etruscan, and Cyriote urns, lamps, and dishes. The exhibition was greatly composed of University of Chicago archaeological holdings with some additions from the Art Institute of Chicago, the Field Museum of Natural History, the Oriental Institute, and private collectors.
